The schools in the district include Central Regional Middle School for grades 7 and 8 and then Central Regional High School for grades 9-12.

Island Heights encompasses many museums that capture and preserve the beauty of the arts. The John F. Peto Studio Museum is a museum dedicated to preserving the legacy of artist John F. Peto. Their displays include original palettes, furniture, photographs, and much more!
The Cottage museum is located a short walk away from the boardwalk and is operated by the Island Heights Cultural and Heritage Association. This 1880’s style Carpenter Gothic two-story summer cottage is open from April to December and their committee does a great job of changing up their displays year round. There's "A Yacht" Going on in Island Heights!
In 1989 about 30 summertime residents decided to form a yacht club to promote yachting and rowing throughout their community. Today the club has gained a reputation for organizing and managing national and international regattas over the years.
